Just like a post-card. Actually, I was shocked at how small the Taj Mahal was when I got there. Still very impressive though. The amount of work and love involved in the thing is breath-taking. And all this was built for the queen even though I'm sure she lost her pretty girly figure after she bore the king more than seven (or was it eleven?) kids. Ah true love.
This is one of the the entrance gates to Fatekhpur Sikri. I'm sure I'm bastardizing the spelling of that place. Whatever. FS was a sort of utopia built by some king who wanted a place where all religions and philosophies could dwell in perfect harmony and understanding. Naturally, the place was abandonned as soon as the kind died. And YES that IS a stray goat!!!

Ah, one of my famous "pigeon" shots. This little fellow is perched on the sill of one of the intricately carved lattice windows of none other than the Taj Mahal.

Evil monkeys were hanging around the little pool outside our hotel and took over the bell. The one on the right is scratching his head in case you think he's looking a bit weird. I guess this is what they do with their time when they're not raiding our hotel rooms for food and shiny objects.
