I'm melting! MMMMEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLTTTIIIING!

I woke up to the sounds of cats in heat outside our window. Nothing says "good morning and welcome to Malaysia" like cats screaming in ecstasy.

We wandered down the crowded, dirty street to a little hole in the wall where we had steaming hot roti and frothy, super sweet and delicious tea. The tea was so sweet it elicited the gag reflex when It ried to drink it fast. Taht's when you know it's good.

Afterwards, we ventured out into the sun where we sweated like pigs. By the time I got to the street corner, I didn't even care if anyone saw my pit sweat marks anymore. I was more concerned I coudln't see where I was going cus of the sweat in my eyes. Very very not sexy.

It was a full day of sightseeing and the first place we went to was the Petrona twin towers aka the tallest buildings in the world. They stand 452 m off ground level and house a petroleum company, a shopping mall, the malaysian philharmonic orchestra hall, etc.etc.etc.

They had a wicked fast elevator so that you could travel 1 floor per second and in 40 seconds flat, I'd made it to the 41st floor skybridge. We snapped pictures of random things and eventually got bored and came back down.

Afterwards, we went to this super cheesey Malaysian cultural dance show which was awesome. Since no guys are around me to say it, just let me state that MALAYSIAN CHICKS ARE HAWT.

Naturally, theya re all thinner than me so when we went shopping later, all the store clerks kept running up to me and shouting in Malaysian "We carry all sizes in here! even large!". I kenw they were shouting this cus when I gave them funny looks and shake my head indicating I had no clue what they were saying, they'd tell me this in Chinese or English.

the mall district was awesome and street performers, merchants and food stands lined about a 10 block radius. Palm trees and coconut trees lined teh streets and inbetween the fancy Chanel, Burberry and Prada stores, there'd be some old guy selling curry puffs or laksa (mmm laksa).

The Malays seem to love their Eminem and the moulin rouge soundtrack and so you'd be walking along where it was jammed pack full of people and on several street corners, these other guys were selling automatic bubble blowers so it was like it was snowing bubbles everywhere too! And all the time, you'd here "the real slim shady" or "Come what may" playing in the background.

We all split up and did our own shopping and agreed to meet back at this one "corn" stand wehre they sell EVERYTHING corn. From corn niblet cups to corn on the cob to corn MILKSHAKES and corn icecream.

Suddenly, we heard the speakers go on really loud in the mall and we turned around and before we kenw it, some cheesey Australian boyband had come out onto this platform and were performing their super cheesey singles. The band was called "North" and reminded me of a hlaf-Asian half-Australian version of N'Sync before they hit it big. They sang and danced (horribly might I add, wouldn't have been so bad if they didn't seem to take themselves so seriously) to a crowd of indifferent malaysian shoppers.

I was laughing so hard that my abs hurt but at the same time, I really felt sorry for them. I never thought it was possible to feel embarassed FOR someone, but indeed, I felt just that. Poor guys. They had a "greet the fans" thing afterwards. Barely anyone lined up. To make them feel better, one of the girls I'm travelling with said she'd make them sign her boobs. She was only joking though, but I sort of wish she did do it so that the guys didn't seem so awkward.

(I would have made them sign my boobs but there's only room for one or maybe two signatures on them. Coudln't possibly fit all four guys' signatuers and then I'd feel bad for leaving two of them out. )

and while we were watching the poor boyband perform, some weird guy in a blue and white Puma t-shrit started staring at us. I never noticed but two of the girls I was travelling with noticed him. We thoguht we'd gotten rid of him but two hours later, they tapped me on the shoulder and told me he was still following us. TWO HOURS this guy kept it up. We eventually bolted into another mall down the street and ran past the security guards so the guy didn't follow us anymore. It was scary as heck.

and then we wandered around town until we walked back to our hostel. The air was super hot and humid and every block or so, we'd pass a nice mosque or temple of some sort. The architecture is amazing ehre. We saw thousands of cocroaches but I'm proud to say I only screamed once. IT wasn't my fault! the thing came out of nowhere and it was teh length of my thumb and was skittering about an inch from my foot!!!

Anyhow, I'm back safe and sound now. We bought a bunch of Malaysian sweets which we are going to devour as soon as I get showered and clean my hands a bit. This comptuer isn't as sketchy as the one last night and there's thankfully no cockroaches living under the space bar.

I'm off to shower now and use the "toilets". They don't believe in toilet paper ehre and instead, they just have a hose sticking out of the wall. So not cool. Everyone in my travelling group is my best friend now as I'm the onyl one with the sense to carry a pack of kleenex around.

OK. Hope everyone's doing well. I miss you all! I miss my bed and the air conditioning at home too!

Take care and enjoy the cool weatehr back home!

Wow. I didn't think there'd be anything worse that European boy bands. I stand corrected. Can you not just imagine them picking up chicks in a bar? "YEah baby, I'm in a boy band!" "OooH! Which one?" "North." "Never heard of it." "Well, we're HUGE in Malaysia! HUGE!" His bandmate joins in, "Yeah! Some girl asked us to sign her BOOBS!"

I'll get mom and dad to install a hose in our bathroom just for you...
